TOTTENHAM

About the photographer

Tell us about yourself
My dad gave me a Canon point-and-shoot in primary school and photography has been a part of my life ever since. I’m currently working on a project called TRAINING GROUND that investigates how boys metamorphose into men on their route from pub to stadia, and football’s potential to change the world. I use my camera as a tool to process the mysteries around me, and I’ve never grown tired of the phenomenon of preserving light.

What’s your relationship to Tottenham?
I chose Tottenham and the club is how I structure my entire life. The community has become my family – I see some landlords and bouncers more often than my best friends! All roads lead back to the Lane.

What was photographing Everton fans like?
It was a beautiful and serene winter day in N17. There isn’t much positivity around Spurs at the moment, but that’s when the other sides of football become even more valuable. It was special to connect with the women who contribute so much but who can get lost in the crowd, and to document the light that shone on them.
